Congratulations to all the students throughout the region who competed in our first Virtual Solo Bach Competition. A total of 73 violin, viola, and cello students submitted two videos each of a different movement of solo repertoire by J. S. Bach.
Students were divided into two levels: Junior Level ages 12-14 and Senior Level ages 15-18 (still in high school). Judges for the competition were for Round 1: Laura Colgate, Judith Silverman, Lori Barnet and for Finals Melissa White, Dana Kelley, Zuill Bailey.
All the students were so proficient in their playing that National Philharmonic has granted everyone who participated automatic acceptance into the 2021 Summer String Institute. All winners will receive a $100 scholarship towards the String Institutes and will have one of the movements they submitted posted on National Philharmonic’s social media channels. Watch and hear the winners below.
National Philharmonic relies on the generosity of its donors to continue bringing you the music. Your contribution is critical to our continued success.
