Ms. Evans served as Secretary of the National Philharmonic, Chair of its Education Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee. She retired from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC/LEIDOS) where she served as Deputy Manager of the Biomedical Technology Division. Ms. Evans spent her career in the medical/health sciences field. While at SAIC, she had oversight of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs. Prior to that she was the recipient of several research grants to investigate the effects of electromagnetic fields on biological tissue. In that capacity, she was an editor of the book Electrofusion and Electroporation in Cell Biology, editor of the Bioelectromagnetics Newsletter, and served on the Board of the Bioelectromagnetics Society. She currently serves on the President’s Council of the National Breast Cancer Coalition. Ms. Evans graduated from Wellesley College and did graduate studies at the University of Maryland. She and her husband, Dr. John Evans, reside in Germantown, Maryland. When not hiking or exploring “somewhere on the planet,” they can be found in concert halls, on car rallies, or the track in their Porsches.
