Ms. Currie has been involved in numerous community initiatives such as: serving as a Citizen Commissioner for the Montgomery County Commission on Juvenile Justice, Serving as Chair for the Father’s and Friends Project for Montgomery East County Community Circle; Education Advocate & Facilitator for the Maryland Scholar Speakers Bureau, and Fundraising Chair for Montgomery County Organizing for Action. Ms. Currie has been appointed to and currently serves on the board of directors for Lead4Life Inc., Literacy Institute for Financial Enrichment, and the National Philharmonic. Ms. Currie is a proud graduate of Tennessee State University and Clark Atlanta University earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and an M.P.A. in Human Resources Management respectively. She most recently obtained a Project Management Certificate of Training from Howard Community College. She is a Missionary at her church, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. When Ms. Currie has some downtime she enjoys hiking, trying new recipes, reading, and hanging out with her Shih Tzu Curbie.
