Ted had a varied career in chemical engineering, finance, publishing and computer science. His interest in music started as a child, when his home was always filled with it from the radio and records. He added music (piano performance and music theory) as an elective subject on his high school diploma, obtained in Ontario, Canada. With his engineering background, he came to appreciate the mathematical basis of western music. He is an avid follower of opera, traveling all over the United States and to Europe to hear various companies.
