Chris Larios

Trumpet • Principal

Chris Larios is a trumpeter, cornetist, arranger, and teacher originally from Overland Park, Kansas. He performs frequently in the Washington, DC area with his British-style brass chamber group, the Dominion Brass Quartet, and as principal trumpet in the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra. Chris has been guest principal trumpet with the Alexandria Symphony and the Apollo Orchestra, as well as a frequent substitute/extra player with the National Symphony Orchestra.

Since 2017, Chris has served as a trumpeter/cornetist in “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band. Before moving to DC he performed with the Charleston Symphony, the Alabama Symphony, and the Charlotte Symphony orchestras. Chris holds bachelor degrees in performance and composition from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a master’s degree in performance from Northwestern University. His notable teachers include Keith Benjamin, Joseph Parisi, Charlie Geyer, Barbara Butler, and David King.
