2020-21 Season

How to Watch National Philharmonic

Watching us is free and easy. If it’s your first time streaming a concert, we suggest you set up at 1:45pm. Here’s how:

  1. Go to nationalphilharmonic.org on the device of your choice.
  2. Click on the event countdown box.
  3. Click an option: “Watch, No Charge” or “Login” and complete the form.
  4. Choose where you would like to view the concert:

If we are “live,” the video will start playing at that moment. If it does not, select the “Play” button in the lower left corner of the screen to start the video. Once it starts playing, look on the lower right corner of the “screen” for another little icon that will enlarge the video to fill up the full screen of your device.

Extra tips when watching different devices:

  • A computer (PC or Mac): Make sure that the sound is turned up on your computer. If your computer sound quality is not very good, use headphones instead, or enable your Bluetooth speaker.
  • A tablet or phone: Make sure you can find the email or a web page that has the concert URL link on it.
  • A Smart TV: First, find YouTube among all the apps on your Smart TV, and then type “National Philharmonic at Strathmore” into the search field in the app. You will be able to see the upcoming list of livestreams as soon as you find our Channel.
  • Connect laptop with TV: Use a HDMI connection to connect your laptop to your smart TV. Then the TV will function like an external computer monitor.

Incompatible Devices

The following devices generally will not work for a webcast:

  • Traditional stereo or radio
  • Television not connected to the Internet
  • VCR or DVD player
  • Flip phone or another cell phone without Internet access
  • Computer with no sound capability (rare)
