Soprano Aundi Marie Moore is the 2023 Sphinx Medal of Excellence honoree, an award that recognizes extraordinary Black and Latinx classical musicians. Mezzo soprano Lucia Bradford’s performance in the Messiah has been celebrated for her “startling ornamentation”, “luscious musical phrasing” and “dramatic force” (Washington Classical Review). Baritone Jorell Williams has been called “a rock solid singer with a keen understanding of his own expressive depths” (The Washington Post). The Dallas Morning News declared Norman Shankle “an uncommonly warm and liquescent tenor”.
